There is a sign-up genius for both food and drink, and helpers to set up and to clean up. If you are not able to participate in the sign-up, please don’t think twice about it; we would love to simply enjoy your company at this meal.

If you have any questions, suggestions, or if you are in need of transportation, please reply to this email or reach out to Fr. Howie or the office. Friends, family and neighbors are most welcome! We hope to see a large turnout at this first event of 2023!

Christmas Flower Dedications

posted in: News | 0

Celebrate someone special in your life with a memorial or honorary dedication in the Christmas service booklet.

Christmas 2022 Flower DedicationEveryone is invited. Honorary gifts are often given to show appreciation for someone’s kindness or to recognize their impact on your life, or to mark an anniversary or other special event. In Memory Gifts are a special way to memorialize someone special who has passed away.  A donation with your dedication turns your expression of love into a sign of hope.  All names received for dedications will be published in the Christmas and Christmas Eve booklets.

Please use the Christmas Flower Dedication form. There will be some forms available in the office and in the lobby.  Please have everything turned in by December 18, 2022.  You may mail, email, or drop your dedication in the mailbox on the office door, or use the Giving page and choose the “flowers” option.  The suggested donation amount is $25. However, there is no required minimum or limit. The greening of the church building will again be quiet and serene, with some traditional flowers but nothing over the top. Collected donations will go towards these arrangements and any surplus will go towards altar flowers on weeks without specific dedications throughout the year.

Please let me know if you have any questions.  This has been a year when we have experienced losses, and also a year when we have experienced new joys.  This is a nice opportunity to reflect and share those significant events and special individuals with our faith family.

Hope Dining Room volunteers needed Monday, December 19, 2022

posted in: News, Outreach, Service | 0

Dear families of St. Thomas’s and St. Nicholas,

Monday, December 19, 2022, is our opportunity to serve at Hope Dining Room. Guests are now “dining in” instead of grabbing a lunch and leaving, so we have 2 different short shifts that you can volunteer for. The cooking shift goes from 10 – 11:45 a.m.   The serving and cleanup shift, goes from 11:45 – 1:30 p.m.

If you’d like to help, please bring a ball cap and apron. We would LOVE to see you! All of this takes place at the Kingswood Methodist Church on Marrows Road in Brookside Park. It is a team effort and lots of fun and it makes you feel SO good to feed people who are really grateful for the lunch.

Please sign up to donate things we need for the meal, which may be brought to St. Thomas’s on Monday – Thursday between 9 and noon OR when you come to church on Sunday.  If that doesn’t work for you, give me a call and I will pick it up at your house.

MANY BLESSINGS to you ALL,
Madeline Johnson     mad1240@comcast.net
