I wanted to update everyone on the Children’s Ministries schedule for the next few weeks leading up to Easter 2022 on April 17, 2022. The last event on the list is Good Friday and I am hoping that it will be a good opportunity for children and their families to gather to learn about and interact with stories of Jesus on his journey from the Last Supper to the Cross. Below is the schedule. We will be asking for extra help in organizing and facilitating the Good Friday gathering. More information will be coming about that event.

March   6, 2022 – Regular Sunday School
March 13, 2022 – Regular Sunday School
March 20, 2022 – Regular Sunday School
April     3, 2022 – Regular Sunday School
April    10, 2022 – Regular Sunday School
April    15, 2022 – Good Friday Family Event

Children’s Ministries – Family Church Sunday

posted in: Children's Ministries | 0

Greetings Everyone,

Sunday, November 28, 2021 is the First Sunday of Advent and is a Family Church Sunday at St. Thomas’s. We will not have Sunday School that day but we began an Advent project last week. On each Sunday of Advent, we will be making or sending home kits to make 3 or 4 Jesse Tree ornaments.

This past Sunday, we made our first Jesse Tree ornaments. I have attached the stories that go with the ornaments and two photos of the ornaments that we made (photo 1 and photo 2). Please feel free use these resources in your own home as part of your Advent activities.

Blessings, Belinda

Children’s and Youth Ministry Fall Start-up

THANK YOU to everyone who has been so generous in fulfilling our wish lists! The children’s ministry leadership team has been hard at work planning a safe, fun and meaningful program for the children this year. We will be including our youth in our planning for their activities.

Please consider joining our team as a children’s worship lead teacher or assistant or supporter or a youth group leader/guide. Let me know if you want to share a specific activity or ministry with our young parishioners.

And, please encourage your children and youth to join our advertised activities this fall. Lastly, if you would like to be a part of the activities but still cannot due to COVID safety concerns, let me know so I can try to include your child/family in an alternate way. See our COVID policy.

I look forward to seeing you all soon!

Children’s Worship begins Fall 2021 program

posted in: Children's Ministries | 0

Hello Friends,

I am excited to announce that Children’s Worship / Sunday School at St. Thomas’s will start next Sunday, September 12, 2021, as a “tent gathering” in the courtyard, under red tents. We are predicting that at the beginning of our return to “in-person” programming, we will have enough children and teachers for one multi-age class. (Think:  1 room school house).  Everyone will be asked to follow COVID safety guidelines while we are together.

In order for everyone to be safe, we need to have 2 adults in every class:  a lead teacher and an assistant.  We have a few lead teachers, but would LOVE to have some of you as an assistant.  We PROMISE we won’t ask you to prepare or lead a lesson – ONLY assist – pour juice/ serve crackers, clean up glue, etc.

We will be outside in the Grove as long as weather permits.  Next Sunday’s forecast is 81 degrees and sunny. You can sign up for a one-time trial, and this is NOT a lifetime assignment. We DO have the sweetest kids around.

If you would like to help as an assistant or have questions about our plan, please come talk to me at St. Thomas’s after either service tomorrow or contact me or Madeline Johnson. We would LOVE to hear from you.

Blessings, Belinda Young-Payne
