Blue Hen Bounty, ECM’s and St. Thomas’ food pantry for U of D students, is in need of food for the fall semester-especially instant food like Easy Mac, canned tuna, and other instant one-serve meals, snacks such as crackers and granola bars, and non-perishable breakfast foods. Please bring your contributions to the stage in the Great Hall.

Choir Rehearsal starts tonight
The first rehearsal of our Choir starts tonight, Thursday, Sep. 6, at 7:30 p.m. in the Choir Room. There is not an anthem scheduled for this coming Sunday, so this rehearsal will be a somewhat relaxed, get acquainted with new music time. If any of you would like to join the group just to see what it is like, I warmly invite you.
I will be in the Choir Room at 6:00 p.m. in case anyone wants to come a little early to do a little practice singing with me to get an idea what voice part he or she might be.
Rehearsals are usually over by 9:00.
Cheers!

ECM dinners – sign up now!
The signup sheet is posted so you may sign up to provide dinner for the hungry and appreciative UD students whom we will welcome to take a break from campus life and sojourn for a while in our building.
You can do it as an individual or with a friend or two. Plan to stay to eat and to get to know the kids.
Thank you. Sally Price <sallyeymanprice@gmail.com>
Welcome University Students!
The Episcopal Campus Ministry (ECM), based at St. Thomas’s, Newark, would like to reach out to fellow Episcopalians who will be attending the University of Delaware this fall. Continuing ECM students, student advisors, and members of St. Thomas’s would like to invite them to Wednesday worship and meals, welcome them to prayer and reflection, and introduce them to a ministry of learning and service at the very edge of the university campus.
Come for a free supper, stay for the community!
Please send student names, contact information, and school-year addresses you may have to Ms. Denise Burgher, St. Thomas’s ECM Convening Advisor and to the Rev. Ed Godden, Interim Rector.
Rally Days 2018 -REMEMBER -RENEW -REJOICE-
Dear Members of Saint Thomas’s,
This year, we are doing something a little different for Rally Day, on Saturday, September 15th and Sunday the 16th. Mark your calendar!
Remember: Join us for an Italian feast on Saturday evening at 5:30 p.m. in the Great Hall. Join together to break bread, and remember, “Wherever two or more are gathered in my name, I am there among them.” Matthew 18:12. Please invite friends, family, and neighbors to this celebration of community. All food and beverages will be provided; but we are looking for help with dishes after dinner.
Renew: Helping others sparks happiness. Renew your spirit by learning about some of the opportunities; it feels great to contribute to the lives of others. There will be information stations set up both at Saturday’s dinner, and after both the 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services on Sunday.
Rejoice: Over this weekend, learn about and reflect on all of the amazing possibilities for the upcoming season. “Be truly glad. There is great joy ahead.” 1 Peter 1:6.
Volunteers do not necessarily have lots of time; only lots of heart ?!
Kind Regards,
Cana Hartman
