Dear friends and families of St. Thomas’s and St. Nicolas,
Saturday, August 27, 2022, is the first St. Thomas’s Health Fair, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. We have lots of local health and wellness organizations coming to offer education and information. There will be flu and COVID immunizations available (bring your ID and insurance card), children’s activities including a bounce house. BBQ sandwich lunch and snacks available for a donation and there will be free chair massages. This event is for all of us and an opportunity for us to reach out to the community around us.
We want you to come and participate, but we also need volunteers to make the day successful. Sign up to volunteer! None of the slots are longer than 2 hours and any time you can donate would be very appreciated.
aTtack addiction is also providing free Naloxone/Narcan training at 11 a.m. This is a training on how to recognize, prevent, and respond to an opioid overdose by using intranasal naloxone (Narcan®). They would like people to Sign up for free Naloxone/Narcan training, so they know how many kits to bring, but walk-ins are welcome too.
Please spread the word to anyone you know and help us make this community event a success. If you have any questions please reach out to Philippa Sunnergren at 302 643-2111 or via email at phil@sunnergren.com.
If you are interested in helping plan more outreach within our parish or to the local community, please consider joining the Pastoral Care Committee or the Outreach Committee. The next meetings are Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. for Pastoral Care and Thursday, September 8, 2022, for Outreach. All are welcome.
Thank you.
