RITE I VS RITE II

Rite I vs Rite II

At St Thomas’s, you have the option to choose Rite I and Rite II for your Sunday worship experience.

Rite I, at 8am, offers a beautiful, traditional service with the rich, poetic language of Elizabethan English, perfect for those who appreciate a more historical and reverent tone. Music is included, but only on the first and third Sundays of the month, adding a special touch to these services. On the other hand, 10:30am Rite II worship provides a contemporary service with modern English, making it accessible and relatable for today’s worshippers. This service typically includes music every Sunday, enhancing the worship experience with uplifting hymns and songs. Both rites are designed to create meaningful and spiritual connections, allowing you to choose the style that best resonates with your faith journey. Whether you prefer the timeless elegance of Rite I or the inclusive and flexible nature of Rite II, there’s a place for you.
Additionally, on the fourth Sunday of the month, the 10:30am service incorporates wording from Enriching Our Worship, which uses more inclusive and gender-neutral language, further emphasizing inclusivity and modernity in worship.
Whether you choose to attend the 8am or the 10:30am service, you can switch between them whenever you wish, knowing we are all one faith family.
