All are welcome. St. Thomas’s is a diverse community of young and old, different races, languages, and nationalities, cradle Episcopalians and those new to our tradition. We are conservative and liberal, single and married and partnered, socially active, spiritually reflective, deeply committed to being the Gospel in our community, our diocese, and our world. The daily struggle of missing loved ones that are no longer with us is always hard.The holidays are a time of gathering with family and friends, a time full of traditions and memories. It can be particularly difficult for those who are dealing with loss to navigate through the holiday season.

The Reverend Deacon Cecily Sawyer Harmon, LCSW, and Dr. Lisa DiRenzo are continuing to offer the grief workshop. The group meets the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month at 9:15 in Deacon Cecily’s office.

Classes are $15 for students and $35 for non-students (for the whole four-week session).

What if I have no dance experience?
Don't worry, most people are beginners. We tailor each class to fit the level of the participants.

What do I wear?
Any comfortable clothing will do. We do ask that you wear comfortable shoes that are securely attached to your feet. Anything that has a tendency to slip off is potentially dangerous. For women, heels are alright if you are comfortable in them, but under 3" is preferred. If you don't feel comfortable wearing heels, flats or sneakers are fine.

How do I register for a public class?
Just show up 10 to 15 minutes early for the first class of the session. The beginning of each session can be found on the calendar. We will ask you to submit your payment and fill out a short contact information sheet for our records in case of emergency cancellations.

If I come with a partner will I be dancing with him/her the entire time?
We encourage rotation of partners during class because it helps the learning process; however, it is not required.

Scottish Country Dancing is a wonderful pastime and is great exercise for mind and body. Although originating in Scotland, you will find clubs and classes in most countries around the globe. Scottish Country Dancing is very much a social activity and, unlike many other types of dancing, dancers are encouraged to dance with different people, so that couples who do come along, will dance mostly with other dancers and it is therefore most definitely not a requirement to come to a class with a partner. We are a friendly group of dancers and give a warm welcome to new members!

AIDS Delaware’s mission is to support those living with HIV/AIDS in Delaware and to prevent the spread of HIV through comprehensive services, education, and advocacy. AIDS Delaware is the State of Delaware’s first and largest AIDS Service Organization (ASO). The agency was founded in 1984 by a group of concerned volunteer activists addressing the needs of the emerging AIDS community in our state. Over the last 30 years, AIDS Delaware has become Delaware’s premier ASO working for the health of the human family.

K(eep) I(t) S(imple) AA meeting:
Alcoholics Anonymous is an international fellowship of men and women who have had a drinking problem. It is nonprofessional, self-supporting, multiracial, apolitical, and available almost everywhere. There are no age or education requirements. Membership is open to anyone who wants to do something about his or her drinking problem.

A relaxed and friendly group meets to discuss the lessons for the following Sunday. Come every week or drop in when you can for some new perspectives on familiar stories, and maybe some speculation about where the sermon will go!

Episcopal Campus Ministry (ECM) is a place where our college-age students explore and live spirituality in community with other students, faculty, staff and parishioners. Through service projects, regional and national events, and weekly gatherings, they connect to the world and to one another. There is always food and fun, time to worship and time to just hang out.

ECM students meet on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. for Evening Prayer and then enjoy dinner prepared by parishioners at 6:00 p.m. All are welcome!

Meets in the Great Hall. South College Speakers is an AA meeting for young people who are battling alcohol addiction. Alcoholics Anonymous is an international mutual aid fellowship whose stated purpose is to enable its members to "stay sober and help other alcoholics achieve sobriety." It was founded in 1935 by Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob Smith in Akron, Ohio. With other early members, Bill Wilson and Bob Smith developed AA's Twelve Step program of spiritual and character development. AA's initial Twelve Traditions were introduced in 1946 to help the fellowship be stable and unified while disengaged from "outside issues" and influences.

if you or anyone you know is food insecure and cannot provide ample nutrition for themselves, please come to the student food closet any Wednesday from 4-5 p.m. at St. Thomas's Parish located at 276 S. College Ave. (directly across from Student Health).

We have collected many donated food products that we will hand out to those students in need. All that we ask is you bring your student ID for verification and then we will provide you with whatever amount of food you are in need of.

St. Thomas’s provides hospitality to six AA/12 Step Groups.

Serenity at Sunrise is an apt name for this group as they meet at the beginning of the day, 6:30 a.m. to be exact. Under the AA umbrella are groups for teens and family members of the addicted to help them in supporting their loved one’s sobriety. Meets in the Undercroft. All youth in 7th and 8th grade or who are at least 12 years of age are invited to join the Confirmation Class for a spirit-filled journey centered around worship, learning, service, witness and fellowship. There will be loads of prayerful dialogue, laughter and fun, too! Confirmation completes our baptism and is the sacramental rite in which we express a mature commitment to Christ, culminating with the laying on of hands by the bishop. Youth Confirmation classes are held on Sundays at 9 – 10:15 a.m. from Sept. to May, and include a pilgrimage to The Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City. Novel Theology is a lively discussion group that meets at 9:15 a.m. in the Classroom. Meetings are the second Sunday of September through May. For January, April and May we will meet on the third Sunday.
