Thursday, December 9 6:30 AM  –    5:00 PM

trip to NYC

We will be taking the 6:30 train from Wilmington to Penn Station.  Then- off to the Met cloisters.  The exhibit we are going to see is called "Spain, 1000-1200: Art at the Frontiers of Faith."  It brings together Christian, Muslim, and Jewish objects from that period to show how the meeting of three great religions influenced all of them.  And for practical reference, the exhibit is at the Cloisters, the Met's medieval satellite on the Upper West Side of Manhattan rather than at the Met's main building on Central Park.  Then we will take Amtrack back to Wilmington, arriving at 5pm.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, St. Thomas’s is alive and well. We are worshiping via live streaming on YouTube (See our YouTube Channel and hit Subscribe!), and in person with precautions. The full-text bulletins for our services can be found on our website, and by email request.

We also continue to respond to the needs of the Newark community through our collaboration with the Newark Empowerment Center and others. Those who would like to support our work may do so by going to our “Giving to St Thomas’s” page. Our prayers are with all those who are ill, all who are caring for them, and all who are striving to hear the voice of God in these challenging times. May God bless you and keep you, now and always.

Children's Ministry

ALL God's Children are Welcome to join in our children's Sunday School.  Weather permitting, we are meeting in the courtyard in front of the church; and, if we are inside, we will meet in the undercroft.  All participants are required to wear masks, and we observe social distancing and precautions.

Every month, the last Sunday of the month is Family Church Sunday.  On these days, children attend worship with their families, there is no regular Sunday School prior to the service, and ALL are encouraged to participate: ushering, reading, hospitality, etc.

UD Ballroom Dancers- public class

Meets in the Great Hall

Classes are $15 for students and $35 for non-students (for the whole four-week session).

What if I have no dance experience?
Don't worry, most people are beginners. We tailor each class to fit the level of the participants.

What do I wear?
Any comfortable clothing will do. We do ask that you wear comfortable shoes that are securely attached to your feet. Anything that has a tendency to slip off is potentially dangerous. For women, heels are alright if you are comfortable in them, but under 3" is preferred. If you don't feel comfortable wearing heels, flats or sneakers are fine.

How do I register for a public class?
Just show up 10 to 15 minutes early for the first class of the session. The beginning of each session can be found on the calendar. We will ask you to submit your payment and fill out a short contact information sheet for our records in case of emergency cancellations.

If I come with a partner will I be dancing with him/her the entire time?
We encourage rotation of partners during class because it helps the learning process; however, it is not required.
Meets in the Great Hall.
