Sunday, August 18 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM | Summer Children’s Worship: God’s Big BackyardSummer Children’s Worship for children 3 years and older will begin on June 9 and run through August 18 during the 10:30 a.m. service. Children will meet the children’s worship leader in the Great Hall before the service and then walk downstairs or outside together, depending on the activity planned, at 10:30 a.m. The children will then rejoin their families during the Peace. Our theme this year is “God’s Big Backyard”: Where Kids Have a Blast Serving Jesus. Each week, in our very own “Big Backyard”, the children will hear a story or do an activity (art, drama, music, games, etc.) based on one of the many bible stories that illustrate how we can serve our families, our friends, our neighbors, our communities, and God. This year, we will be asking for parents or other parishioners to be guest leaders. Keep an eye out for your chance to lead! 276 S College Ave, Newark, DE 19711, USA (276 S College Ave, Newark, DE 19711, USA) |

Sunday, August 18 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM | UD Ballroom Dancers- public class Meets in the Great Hall
Classes are $15 for students and $35 for non-students (for the whole four-week session).
What if I have no dance experience? Don't worry, most people are beginners. We tailor each class to fit the level of the participants.
What do I wear? Any comfortable clothing will do. We do ask that you wear comfortable shoes that are securely attached to your feet. Anything that has a tendency to slip off is potentially dangerous. For women, heels are alright if you are comfortable in them, but under 3" is preferred. If you don't feel comfortable wearing heels, flats or sneakers are fine.
How do I register for a public class? Just show up 10 to 15 minutes early for the first class of the session. The beginning of each session can be found on the calendar. We will ask you to submit your payment and fill out a short contact information sheet for our records in case of emergency cancellations.
If I come with a partner will I be dancing with him/her the entire time? We encourage rotation of partners during class because it helps the learning process; however, it is not required. Meets in the Great Hall. St Thomas's Episcopal Church, 276 S College Ave, Newark, DE 19711, USA (St Thomas's Episcopal Church, 276 S College Ave, Newark, DE 19711, USA) |

Monday, August 19 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM | Scottish Country Dancers- RSCDS classMeets in the Great Hall. Scottish Country Dancing is a wonderful pastime and is great exercise for mind and body. Although originating in Scotland, you will find clubs and classes in most countries around the globe. Scottish Country Dancing is very much a social activity and, unlike many other types of dancing, dancers are encouraged to dance with different people, so that couples who do come along, will dance mostly with other dancers and it is therefore most definitely not a requirement to come to a class with a partner. We are a friendly group of dancers and give a warm welcome to new members!
