| Sunday, February 9 9:00 AM – 10:15 AM | Youth ConfirmationMeets in the Undercroft. All youth in 7th and 8th grade or who are at least 12 years of age are invited to join the Confirmation Class for a spirit-filled journey centered around worship, learning, service, witness and fellowship. There will be loads of prayerful dialogue, laughter and fun, too! Confirmation completes our baptism and is the sacramental rite in which we express a mature commitment to Christ, culminating with the laying on of hands by the bishop. Youth Confirmation classes are held on Sundays at 9 – 10:15 a.m. from Sept. to May, and include a pilgrimage to The Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City. ALL AGES- bring the kids!
Most of us know about rosaries and how they are used in prayer, but there are many practices (in many faiths!) that incorporate beads as a way to connect the spiritual wit the physical. This session will suggest a few prayer techniques you might try, but will also be hands-on. Beads and stringing materials will be provided and a knowledgeable beader will be on hand to guide us in making our own aids to prayer. Meets in the Great Hall
Classes are $15 for students and $35 for non-students (for the whole four-week session).
What if I have no dance experience?
Don't worry, most people are beginners. We tailor each class to fit the level of the participants.
What do I wear?
Any comfortable clothing will do. We do ask that you wear comfortable shoes that are securely attached to your feet. Anything that has a tendency to slip off is potentially dangerous. For women, heels are alright if you are comfortable in them, but under 3" is preferred. If you don't feel comfortable wearing heels, flats or sneakers are fine.
How do I register for a public class?
Just show up 10 to 15 minutes early for the first class of the session. The beginning of each session can be found on the calendar. We will ask you to submit your payment and fill out a short contact information sheet for our records in case of emergency cancellations.
If I come with a partner will I be dancing with him/her the entire time?
We encourage rotation of partners during class because it helps the learning process; however, it is not required.
