St. Thomas’s provides hospitality to six AA/12 Step Groups.
Serenity at Sunrise is an apt name for this group as they meet at the beginning of the day, 6:30 a.m. to be exact. Under the AA umbrella are groups for teens and family members of the addicted to help them in supporting their loved one’s sobriety. Alcoholic Anonymous is an international fellowship of men and women who have had a drinking problem. It is nonprofessional, self-supporting, multiracial, apolitical and available almost everywhere. There are no age or education requirements. Membership is open to anyone who wants to do something about his or her drinking problem. Friday, June 14 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM | Al-Anon AFG- Reaching for Personal Freedom Meets in the Classroom "AFG" stands for "Al-Anon Family Groups." Since alcoholism is a family disease, the Al-Anon Family Groups are organized to hold regular meetings to help people deal with the effects of alcoholism. Every Friday an Al-Anon Group meets here. Members start with the question: “How can I help my problem drinker quit drinking?” Meetings are on Fridays at 12 noon in the Undercroft. Membership is open to anyone who wants to do something to help someone they care about with his or her drinking problem.
