St. Thomas’s provides hospitality to six AA/12 Step Groups.
Serenity at Sunrise is an apt name for this group as they meet at the beginning of the day, 6:30 a.m. to be exact. Under the AA umbrella are groups for teens and family members of the addicted to help them in supporting their loved one’s sobriety. Alcoholic Anonymous is an international fellowship of men and women who have had a drinking problem. It is nonprofessional, self-supporting, multiracial, apolitical and available almost everywhere. There are no age or education requirements. Membership is open to anyone who wants to do something about his or her drinking problem. Monday, March 4 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM | Scottish Country Dancers- RSCDS classMeets in the Great Hall. Scottish Country Dancing is a wonderful pastime and is great exercise for mind and body. Although originating in Scotland, you will find clubs and classes in most countries around the globe. Scottish Country Dancing is very much a social activity and, unlike many other types of dancing, dancers are encouraged to dance with different people, so that couples who do come along, will dance mostly with other dancers and it is therefore most definitely not a requirement to come to a class with a partner. We are a friendly group of dancers and give a warm welcome to new members!
