Children’s Ministries begins September 11, 2022

Hello St.Thomas’s Community,

The last days of August mean “back to school” for many of us. At St. Thomas’s, it means the start of the program year for Children’s Ministries. Our Sunday School team has planned a great year for our children and families, and I encourage everyone with children aged 4 years to 6th grade to register for this year’s program AND that you invite others to join us.

Our Sunday School program kicks off on September 11, 2022 at 10:15 a.m. with registration and refreshments and then Ms. Madeline will lead our first lesson at 10:30 a.m.  We also have some extra events planned throughout the year.  See information about our program and a calendar of activities. Paper copies of this information is also available at church or I can mail it to you. Please let me know what if you have questions or need additional information.  I would love to share in this ministry with you. I can be reached at belmar43@aol.com or 302-388-4017.

In order to make it the best year ever, our ministry team needs more adults and post-confirmation teens to volunteer to help us. We have several roles to fill. You could volunteer to help on a regular basis or just for an event. All are welcome.  Some of the roles include lead teacher, assistant teacher or classroom helper, event organizer, event helpers, and family outing organizer.  Please let me know what interests you and what you are willing and able to do.  I would love to share in this ministry with you. I can be reached at belmar43@aol.com or 302-388-4017.

Please register your child aged 4 years to 6th grade for our Children’s Ministry program. This form will provide us with contact information and allow us to plan for the needs of your children.  Paper copies will be available on September 11, 2022, at church and in our classroom every week.

Won’t you consider signing up to be a Leader or Assistant leader for Sunday School?

I look forward to seeing all of you soon!

Blessings,

Belinda Young-Payne

Children’s Ministries – Family Church Sunday

posted in: Children's Ministries | 0

Greetings Everyone,

Sunday, November 28, 2021 is the First Sunday of Advent and is a Family Church Sunday at St. Thomas’s. We will not have Sunday School that day but we began an Advent project last week. On each Sunday of Advent, we will be making or sending home kits to make 3 or 4 Jesse Tree ornaments.

This past Sunday, we made our first Jesse Tree ornaments. I have attached the stories that go with the ornaments and two photos of the ornaments that we made (photo 1 and photo 2). Please feel free use these resources in your own home as part of your Advent activities.

Blessings, Belinda

Children’s and Youth Ministry Fall Start-up

THANK YOU to everyone who has been so generous in fulfilling our wish lists! The children’s ministry leadership team has been hard at work planning a safe, fun and meaningful program for the children this year. We will be including our youth in our planning for their activities.

Please consider joining our team as a children’s worship lead teacher or assistant or supporter or a youth group leader/guide. Let me know if you want to share a specific activity or ministry with our young parishioners.

And, please encourage your children and youth to join our advertised activities this fall. Lastly, if you would like to be a part of the activities but still cannot due to COVID safety concerns, let me know so I can try to include your child/family in an alternate way. See our COVID policy.

I look forward to seeing you all soon!
Blessings, Belinda Young-Payne
